Yanolja, a global travel platform, is showing rapid growth in its transaction volume for accommodations in Japan.

From when Japan reopened its doors to visa-free foreign tourism in October to December, Yanolja's transaction volume (GMV) for accommodations in Japan increased by 482% compared to the same period in 2019, far surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Furthermore, the number of reservations increased by 295% during the same period, indicating that Yanolja is the most preferred platform when it comes to traveling to Japan. The most popular city to travel to was Osaka, with four out of ten travelers (41%) choosing to visit the city, followed by Tokyo (27%), Fukuoka (22%), Kyoto (6%), and Sapporo (4%).

To maintain the momentum of this growth, Yanolja will be featuring a promotion on ryokan, a popular choice for winter accommodation, until next month, and be sharing a wide range of tips and information on traveling in Japan for all tastes.

“As a result of continuously expanding Yanolja's overseas accommodation services and benefits in the Pandemic era, the transaction volume for accommodations in Japan has increased more than five times compared to the period before COVID-19,” said Cheol Woong Lee, the chief marketing officer at Yanolja. We plan to strengthen our position as the global go-to platform for all travel under the sun.
